Rome

The eternal city. There is little for me to add here. For those with a keen sense of history, I think they could spend years in Rome and still be not cover even a fraction of all the sights to see. Every street corner beckons with the magic of the past. The interesting thing is that there are many levels of civilizations within Rome. We have pre-historic Rome, classical Rome, medieval Rome and so on. Among the items to tick off, the Coliseum, the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain are surely a part of the list, as is the Vatican. I think seeing St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel, to say nothing of the countless works of art that you see all around you, as you make the tour, makes it a fascinating experience. We stayed at the Inn at the Spanish Steps, with Antico Caffè Greco below – the oldest bar in Rome, set up in the 1760s.
